The Review

The film R.I.P.D has some great actors playing various roles. Ryan Reynolds plays the hotshot detective called Nick, while Kevin Bacon plays his long-time police partner Hayes. Bacon plays his role of the villain superbly, just as well as he did in X-Men: First Class. Now, moving onto Nick's R.I.P.D partner Roy, played by the ever so great Jeff Bridges. He plays the role of the comical hero, with his witty jokes and famous country accent - it's hard to resist liking his character! Mary-Louise Parker plays the on and off love interest of Roy, which was done to just right as it wasn't heavily focused on this romance yet it had elements to suggest something has happened there - making it funnier when they two were around each other flirting. Due to both having big persona's in the film, they both wanted to be the one in charger, making it funny to see the power struggles between the two and how each of them tried to get the upper hand on the other.

Despite reading such negative reviews, and even having others tell me not to waste my time, I decided that I'd like to make my own opinion on the film - I very much enjoyed this film for a variety of reasons. I found the film funny and related to my sense of humour. The gags were used at the right times and from my perspective, were funny. I also loved Jeff Bridges character Roy. He is simply amazing, I can't describe how great this character is, you just have to go see it for him! I must admit, I seem to like films more if they are hated by others, while I still would have liked this film if it did get positive reviews, it's worth noting this.

Now, I 100% recommend you go and see this film if you can. It's one of the films were if you give it a chance, you probably won't regret it. I don't understand why it has been give such negative reviews, but I guess it won't be for everyone. So, stop reading this and go see R.I.P.D at once!
